The training calendar or workout calendar shown below is the heart of the training tools that individual members utilize.
This calendar is typically the starting point that individual users encounter after they choose to start using the interactive fitness tools.
Its purpose is to give a quick view and ability to navigate to recent workouts and injuries/sicknesses as well as upcoming workouts and goals.
A secondary purpose is to provide the user a quick means of navigation to commonly used fitness tools.
Click on the appropriate tab to view more detailed explanations of how these features work.
The legend at the top of the calendar page provides the user a key to quickly identify the following four types of information that the calendar tracks:
- Historical Log - Previously recorded log entries.
- Planned Workouts - Upcoming or future workouts that the user has previously planned.
- Goals/Challenges - Denotes the day that a goal or challenge that the user is participating will complete.
- Sick - Days in the past where the user has denoted that they were suffering from sickness or an injury.
Also at the top of the calendar page is a quick navigation button and dropdown that provides the user with a way to quickly access commonly used tools and features as follows:
- Log Today's Workout - Navigates the user directly to the log for the current day.
- Create Goal - Pushes the user to the set of screens where they can create new health and fitness goals for themselves or choose from a list of pre-existing challenges.
- View My Goals/Challenges - Navigates the user to a screen where they can view all the goals and/or challenges they are currently participating in as well as any previously completed.
- View Reports - Navigates the user to Reporting tools where they can view summary, detail, and analysis reports of their progress.
Moving between months is quite easy. At the top corners of calendar are two hyperlinks that you let you move forward or backward by a month.
The hyperlink in the top left corner will refresh the calendar with information for the previous month.
The hyperlink in the top right corner will refresh the calendar with information for the next month.
By default the current month will always be shown when a user first enters this screen.
The calendar shows any days where the user has a workout recorded or planned as well as any days where a goal or challenge is scheduled to end. The user can distinguish between
these different entries on the calendar based upon the symbols denoted in the legend.
Training log days will show any diary entries the user saved for the specific day in addition to how many individual entries the user made within their training log for that day.
Individual entries can be viewed as line items within the daily log. Examples of individual entries are an entry for running, biking, or a particular weight lifting exercise such as the bench press.
All of the text within a specific calendar day is hyperlinked. By clicking any of this text, the user will enter the training log for the specified day.
For days where the user has a goal or challenge ending, the user will see the description of the goal within the calendar day. Just as with the training log entries, the user can click
the hyperlinked text and they will be pushed to the details page for the goal or challenge.
For days where the user has not saved any training logs or goals, the calendar day will be blank other than the day of the month. If the user wishes to enter a training log for one of
these days, the day of the month number is a hyperlink that will take the user to the training log screens for that particular day.
